Kitty Smash!! . . .and That's That

Ah. . .the fiftith review. MY fiftith review. And it's for yet another artist well known for being from Fireball 20XL. Interesting, that.
Well. . . This is the first time that Kristy "Scorch" Sunshine has dwelled into the land of animation, much less Flash animation. But is this a GOOD thing? Perhaps not everyone would think so.

Graphic-wise, every original frame of animation is drawn quite well. The graphical style changes from scene to scene, but rest-assured, this is done on purpose. The three different styles(normal, chibi/anime, and manga-style black-and-white-action scene) combine together to make a short, but memorable little movie that most people who don't have a board up their bums can enjoy. It may not be as wholey beautiful as some of the other movies here on Newgrounds, but it's still a lot better than a great many number of them, too!

The style of the movie isn't entirely original, but isn't entirely unoriginal, either. Basically, the movie has a slightly familiar feel to it, particularly if you've watched one of various Japanese anime series, but of course, given the circumstance, randomness, and original characters, it's kept pretty fresh.

Not many sounds were used, but the sound effects used were of high quality, not only fitting into whichever scene they were used in, but also sounding good in the process. The voices are also very clear and sound equally good.
No music was used, but of course, I'm not going to add or remove points for that. That'd be just stupid. I do think, however, a little light music might've added a little to the movie.

There was a little violence in this movie.(I mean, it's called "Anti BAT v2.0". That should tell you something.) It was used well, though.(Does not effect overall score.)

No interactivity. Amusing as the thought may be, pressing the "Play" button does NOT truly count as interactivity.(Does not effect overall score.)

Given the style, I think this movie was indeed QUITE cute and humorous. I can't honestly see how it could have been much more amusing, but there ARE more amusing movies out there, for certain.

So. . . In short, this is a very good movie for a first try, but it could have been a little better in a few ways. Little knitpicky things. Ya know? A pretty good attempt, Kris. Glad to see you on Newgrounds as an artist. And thus ends my fiftith review. Thanks for sticking with me so far, if you have. If not, you probably aren't missing much.

"EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME". . .ly Boring

(NOTICE: I'm ranking the Uncensored Version, not that it matters any.)

Ah, "Loonatics". . . It's a little like Tiny Toon Adventures, but in the complete opposite direction, and then some. This just gives you an idea of what may very well be in store for you, should you watch it. . . This cartoon stars two kids and a very extreme and extremely verbose/verbally-abusive Buzz Bunny. Sound like fun? Perhaps. . .

The art for this Flash movie was pretty well-done. The original art, I mean. The yanked Buzz Bunny graphic looked great and all, but it wasn't exactly an original drawing.(Correct me if I'm wrong.) The backgrounds also looked pretty decent. It could all be better, though. For example, there's obvious separation at the joints on Buzz. But I digress.

The style wasn't exactly original. Just Buzz cursing a lot with some random visual aids.

The sound was alright. It was pretty damned clear what everyone was saying.

There was no ACTUAL violence, but there was a lot of talk about violent stuff, so I think that rates.(Does not effect Overall score.)

No interactivity.(Does not effect Overall score.)

Finally, the movie was funny the first one or two times I saw it, but after that. . .meh. Just dull and noisy.

So overall, it's not a bad movie. It's a good way to mock Loonatics, in fact. But it could probably be a lot better if there was some more action and whatnot.

It's Like F-Zero with Furries and Motorcycles

Heh. I figured you'd upload this here, Andy. That's probably the reason I didn't suggest it myself, come to think of it. Well, let's get right into it, shall we?

The hand-drawn frames of animation and backgrounds are pretty much flawless. They're fluid and beautiful. I saw no flaws in the graphics whatsoever.

The style is very grand, as well. It reminds me a little of some video games I can't recall the name of right offhand, but in this case, it's a good thing. It gives a feeling of familiarity to the movie while keeping things original.

The music is rather grainy. It's still understandable and all that, but it's really low-quality stuff. It makes for a smaller movie size, sure, but still. . .

There's a little bit of violence in this movie. Mostly explosions, wipe-outs, etc. Nothing huge.(Does not effect Overall rating.)

No interactivity.(Does not effect Overall rating.)

No humour that -I- can detect.(Does not effect Overall rating.)

Pretty short review with only three of the given ratings effecting the Overall rating, huh? Anyway. . .this music video is pretty good. It's a lot better than the Rockman NEO video. A lot more colourful and whatnot. I think it deserves the score I gave it.

And, to all my "fans" out there? Hey, look! A GOOD review! Oh-em-gee dubya-tee-eff, slacktards.(Sorry, Andy. Just proving some idiots wrong.)

Another Month, Another Weak Candidate

[NOTICE: See FFDC2 review for name-related references, so you know who I'm talking about, and why I renamed them like the game characters they are.]

Would'ja look at that. Another four. Big shocker there. Get ready for yet another bad review, Jardim.(Like you actually READ the first two. . .)

The graphics in this one were on-part with the graphics in the last two movies. This unfortunately means that they were riddled with. . .well. . . Laziness. I'm tempted to say that the graphics in this movie were the laziest graphics yet, in fact. You even went as far as to use whole animation loops from the first two movies in this one!(Adai scraping across the ground with a blood trail, Miro doing the cartoon-like "from off-screen stretchy-step" thing, etc.) It must be KILLING you to have to draw original frames of animation. If the Brothers Chap and Couch Slave Studios can do it once every week, I would THINK that YOU could do it once every MONTH or so.
Also, I'm not deducting for the general Flash Object stuff. A lot of movies reuse objects in different movies.(Again, the Brothers Chap and Couch Slave Studios qualify here. . .) I'm also not deducting for the single misspelled word you have.("Tueday"?)

Style. There is little style to this movie. It's just the same old crap every episode. Adai gets knocked around and/or bleeds, Miro somehow gets screwed by Adai's gross incompetence. . . Gee. . .where have we seen THAT one before? Oh, right. 8-Freaking-Bit Theater!! But at least with 8-Bit Theater, there are flashy Photoshop effects to cover up for Brian's boners.

Next. . .this movie's voices were bland. Seriously. GET. . .MORE. . .VOICE ACTORS!! Look around the freaking forums! Run a web search! Round up people from the neighborhood if you have to! Just get one or two more voice actors! . . .or maybe take some voice-acting lessons. BOTH of you.
Additionally, why change Adai's voice this late in the game and blame it on a "cold"? A COLD for Pete's sake! Couldn't you have made something better up?

Violence. It's a four because there's a sword through a flaming foot, a trail of blood from Adai scraping himself across the ground, and a baby whose head keeps hitting the desk like it were a weeble.(Does not effect Overall score.)

Interactivity. None. Whatsoever. Most movies, however, lack interactivity anyway, so this is beside the point.(Does not effect Overall score.)

Finally, Humor. . . .hate to tell you this, but after three movies, seeing the same old crap over and over again sort of gets boring. In comedy, anyway.(Which explains why Austin Powers lost his "mojo." *rimshot*) Anyway. . . One thing really confuses me. Well. . .a LOT of things, actually. But one thing in particular confuses me, here.(. . .damn. Deja vu.) What the Hell was the point of the Chinese guy? That's not funny. What, exactly, is funny about a Chinese guy going on and on like an eighty-four year-old man? NOTHING. And when he's pushed over. . .he takes damage? NUMERIC damage? Why hasn't Adai taken any numeric damage yet? Hm?(This reeks vaugely of Final Fantasy Sonic, come to think of it.)

So. . . One again, you fail to impress me, yet continue to sway all of these Final Fantasy fanatics simply because you made an animated 8-Bit Theater rip-off which CLAIMS to be anything BUT that.(And lies through its freaking metaphorical teeth.) Congratulations. You are the true King of Fools, dear lad.

A Solid-5 Vote, Just Like The First!

There are very few movies on Newgrounds that I absolutely 100% HAVE to vote 5 upon. This. . .is one of those movies.

The graphics and art were smooth and fluid, much like in the original. There are absolutely 100% no jags or bad parts of the graphics at all! I'm pretty sure every frame was drawn by hand, on that note. Absolutely beautiful. . .

The style rates high as this music video is extremely original from what I can tell. The song used is a Korean Pop song, and not many people use K-Pop in the movies, so. . . Plus, the storyline is just so adorable. . . I'm always a sucker for romantic comedies mixed action, good music, and overall awesomeness.(. . .that sounded less professional than I was hoping for. But you get the idea.)

The sound is pretty much flawless. You can understand all the words to the music, but there is some typical Flash "fuzziness" due to a degrade in quality while compressing the sound. But that's okay. Like I said, it doesn't hurt it much.

There is a little cartoon violence in this movie. Nothing horrendous. This proves you can made a beautiful, wonderful Flash movie without needing to have violence in it.(Does not effect Overall score.)

No interactivity, like most movies.(Does not effect Overall score.)

Finally, this is a very cute, and very funny movie. I'm gonna have to watch this again after I finish this review! I absolutely LOVE this series!

So overall, this movie is just as every bit good as the last "There She Is!!" movie, and then some. It's longer, cuter, and has more storyline to it. If you liked the original, or even if you've never seen the original, then this movie is worth every bit of your time.

An Insult to Star Control Fans Everywhere

You sincerely hurt my feelings with this piece of garbage. NEVER. . . Put this sort of THING. . . On NEWGROUNDS. . . EVER. . . AGAIN. . .

The graphics were remarkably very well ripped from Final Fantasy and Star Control II, but the background ripped from Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 3 is JPEG-blurred and THEN some. Not good, dude.
Secondly, what the Hell does Star Control II have to do with Final Fantasy, or Final Fantasy with Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 3? Or DBZ SB3 with Star Control II?? Explain THAT one to me.
Finally, why the crap was the Thief using a SWORD? Thieves can not use SWORDS in the game, or most other games, really, god damn it. The only game I know of right offhand where a Thief can use a sword would be Rangarok ONLINE. Anyway, seeing as there was absolutely no explaination as to why he might be weilding a long blade, it doesn't make any sense at all.

The style is. . . . . . How shall I put this. . . Non-existant. I'm terribly confused as to what the point of this thing is. I DO know that this thing has absolutely no style, however. I usually only reserve that number for things that are non-existant in whichever movie I'm reviewing, so. . .yeah. ZERO.

The sound quality is superb. But unfortunately, that doesn't matter at all, considering how badly everything is screwed-up. You have the Starship Commander's voice blithering on while the Pkunk theme plays in the background and the Yehat are typing away on their consoles. I mean. . . WHAT? THE? FUCK?!

There was mild violence, considering Thief and Fighter were whacking their swords together endlessly. Yawn.(Does not effect Overall score.)

No interactivity. No problem there.(Does not effect Overall score.)

No HUMOUR. Well, no, I take that back. The screwed screenshot with the gryphon on the player's side of the screen and four Fighters from Final Fantasy III was. . .ALMOST funny. But otherwise, no. Just. . .no.

I'm sorry, but you fail. You fail at the Portal. You fail at life. You are an abysmol excuse for a Flash artist. You should be ashamed of yourself. What would your dear, sweet mother say if she saw this? Or maybe I should be asking, "In the back of her mind, what would she be THINKING?," considering your mom would probably give you a generic "Oh, honey, that's great!" and be on her way. Harr.

Five, Five, Five, THREE, ZERO, FOUR. . .FIVE?!

Was this a good movie? Uh. . . . . .um. . . . . .erf. Crap. I can't seem to remember. All I can remember at the moment is. . . . . .five. Five. Five, five, and more five. . . .let's see if we can get this thing going anyway. . .

Um. . . Graphics. Fives. . . Lots of fives everywhere in this movie. Um. . . Fives. . .and some people. Some crappy Flash, some good Flash. . . . . .fives. . . Five segments(?). . . Oi. Yeah. . . Average graphics, after taking into consideration all the segments. So, uh. . . . . .five. o_o

The style varies from segment to segment. . . Some segments are very stylish in their way of doing something with the number "five". And some aren't. Not very descriptive, I know. . .but this movie warped my brain. As I said, all I can think about now is. . .five. . .

The sound. . . . . .hah! The sound isn't a five! The sounds is around, uh. . . . . .grr. . . Average. It's. . .a five, too. . . Damn it.

There wasn't much violence in this movie. Only in one segment was there any real violence, and it was mostly just blood and beatings. So. . . Three. . . .hah!(Does not effect overall rating.)

No interactivity.(Does not effect overall rating.)

The humour rounds out to a good healthy dose of random chuckles, really. I chuckled over one or two things, but not over much. Then again, this wasn't really intended to be a funny movie. More of a weird-ass "Jam"/experiment. So. . .4-ish.(Does not effect overall rating.)

What this comes out to. . .*drumroll*. . .is. . . . . .a FIVE. God damn it! No! Arugh! *brain melts*

. . .I'm still not voting 5. >_>;

Another Good Numa Numa Parody

Wow. Okay, this makes the fourth really good Numa Numa parody I've seen since the Newgrounds Portal opened up the Numa Numa Collection. Why is this good? Let's run over the basics.

The graphics were sprites, this is true. But they were very well edited and manipulated. They didn't stay "on-pixel," as it were, kind of jarring left or right, up or down a few 1:1 pixels between frames, but this is forgivable. Also forgiveable is the drawn like used for the eyebrow twitch during the cellphone noise. Good stuff overall.

The style wasn't exactly original, but I think it differs enough from the original Numa Numa Dance to be ranked medium-high.

The sound was, as with all other parodies, pretty good. The lyrics were understandable and all that good stuff, and the music wasn't terribly fuzzy.

There was a bit of violence towards the end of the movie, but it was all "cartoon violence," so low ranking on that.(Does not effect overall score.)

No interactivity.(Does not effect overall score.)

And finally, the jokes and sight gags were pretty spankin'. I think that this parody is very funny, myself.

So, overall, this is a damned good sprite-based parody of the Numa Numa Dance. No real flaws to it and it's pretty original, so it ranks high. Keep up this kind of quality work on your other sprite submissions, should you choose to make more!

This Wins the "Best Numa Parody" Award. . .Period!

I think the subject pretty much summarizes it. This thing gives me an idea to try something with SNK characters, in fact. . . I could imagine Duck King dancing to this and singing. Hah.

Anyway. . . I'm groggy on cold medicine, so I'll be brief.(And unlike my last review, I mean it this time.)

The graphics were fitting, but not of the best quality. There was a lot of stray anti-aliasing pixels(white pixels), but that can't really be helped much, unless you want to spend a lot of time trying to fix that.(Or just use white backgrounds.)

The style was very creative, borrowing from both Numa Numa and Dumbass Dumbass Dance while keeping things fresh.

The sound was, as could be expected, high quality.

There was barely any violence(a nuclear missile went boom), but this wasn't intended to be a violent movie anyway.(Doesn't effect overall score.)

No interactivity.(Doesn't effect overall score.)

And finally, the jokes and humour were awesome stuff.

Overall, I'd say this is the best Numa Numa parody out there so far, right next to River City Comeback. I hope to see more of this sort of thing in the near future, as this and RCC actually keep Dragostea Din Tea fresh and interesting, which is something I can't say for some of the other crap in the Numa Numa Collection. . . Thanks for bringing this movie into fruition!

A Cranky, Tired, and Short(ish) Review

Okay, I'm tired, I'm cranky. . .so I'll be brief. . .unlike my last review of this series.

The graphics, much like last time, are pretty good. Not great, not fabulous. Just good. They get the job done without looking slapdash, and that's what counts.
The style seems slightly improved over the last movie, and yet, not quite. There was a little more subtle humour and goofy jokes in this movie, plus a reference to Salad Fingers -- a Newgrounds classic. Otherwise, boring stuff. The Salad Fingers thing was the only thing that made me laugh, and I think that was more a pity thing than anything. "He's resorting to using referencial humour. Hookay. . ." Anyway. . .
The voices were done well enough, but still lacked any real emotion. While that might be good for the shopkeeper, for Fighter and Blackie, that still will not cut it. Plus, the sound of the voices seem to change after the shop scene. Like you're talking through a cardboard tube or something. I dunno. . . Hard to explain.
There was a little violence when Fighter cut the tip of his finger off, like an idiot. "Has nothing to do with 8-Bit Theater" my ass. Hah. But I digress. . . Little violence to be had in this particular movie.
Finally, the humour was probably only decent due to the fact there was a referencial joke in there(the aforementioned Salad Fingers reference), but that's probably just my opinion.

Alright, opinion time. Ruh. . . God damn it. How does this stuff keep getting on the front page? I really fail to understand how something this lacking can manage to make it on to the front page. I'm half tempted to start work on that Rockman sprite movie again just to prove a point. Or fail to. Whichever. Anyway. . .seriously! This movie isn't all that much better than any number of any other movies like it. Sure, a lot of work obviously went into this movie, but c'mon! I know you can make the next one look better. And again, I'm not saying this is the worst movie in the world or anything. Obviously, if I did, I would have turned it off half way through. But this smells rank of the bile-filled demon pit of mindless fanaticism that Brian of Nuklear Power spawned when he made his 8-Bit Theater comic.(Not that that was his intention, of course.) A Fighter with mental issues(and no freaking brain, apparently), and a pissy Black Mage(again, with no name). Couldn't you at least give them crappy little four-letter names or something so that this doesn't smell so damned strongly of 8-Bit Fanboyism? Please? Hell, I'll name them myself. Adai the Fighter, and Miro the Black Mage. "Adai" means "friend" in some language apparently, and "Miro" just sounds like a mystical-type name. From now on, that's what I'm calling them. Because I don't like calling them "Fighter" and "Black Mage"(OR "Black Mage, PhD.").

Right! Told you I was cranky. Sorry to rant and run, but I've got some sleep I need to catch up on.

Sincerely doubt you'll read this review,
Joseph Collins

I dunno what to tell you about myself.
I like music and video games, and I've been for years.

Also, I like Roll. (:
